About this place
Enjoy a few kushikatsu skewers, then finish with curry. Miyata’s lunch menu brings both together in one dish with its “6-skewer kushikatsu and mini curry set”. It comes with 6 creative kushikatsu skewers, mini curry and vegetable sticks, making it a good option when you want to try both. One diner who ordered the set at lunch recalled that the skewers arrived 3 at a time, allowing them to eat at their own pace. Skewers mentioned that day included a large prawn, pork fillet, konnyaku dengaku, courgette and a nori-wrapped rice cake. Another lunch guest enjoyed prawn, pumpkin that had been simmered before frying, pork fillet with grated daikon and deep-fried pike conger coated in small rice crackers, among other choices. The selection of skewers is varied.
For curry, there is also the standalone “Beef Curry from a Kushikatsu Restaurant”. The menu describes it as generously topped with minced Japanese Black Wagyu, simmered until tender enough to break apart with a spoon while retaining a springy texture. One diner who had the curry at lunch noted that it came with plenty of vegetables; another said the flavour of the grilled vegetables stood out. At lunchtime, you can choose between pairing curry with kushikatsu or making curry the main event.
In the evening, the menu includes the “Omakase Twelve-Skewer Course”, featuring seasonal ingredients fried as they come into season, as well as a six-skewer set that includes angel prawns. There is also a twelve-skewer course served with seared Ayagyu beef and fresh vegetables from Aya Town, suited to a meal that centres on kushikatsu but also includes meat. Some diners look forward to the mini curry served to finish the course; others suggest choosing ochazuke if you prefer a milder curry, as the curry can be somewhat spicy. There are options to shape the final course of the meal to your taste.
